THE“PAPER-CUT” TWIST
While
scrolling through the March issue of Lonny
Magazine, I stumbled across a beautiful sculpture of what appeared to be
made of paper.
As I read on, I came to find out that the sculpture is one
of a series of others produced by paper-cut-project's Amy Flurry and Nikki Nye.
Each custom piece seems to be reminiscent of the 18th century era to create a fusion
of high fashion and intricately constructed paper craft. What a twist on
the traditional paper art we are used to seeing!
What's even more appealing...
Paper-cut-project has constructed custom art installations for the likes of Cartier, Hermes, Red Valentino, and Kate Spade just
to name a few.
Top designers and stores have used these bold and dramatic
pieces for runway props, hair pieces, in-store displays, and they can also be
found as subjects in a museum.
Want to take one home
with you like myself?
Good news!
Paper-cut-project has released a series of limited quantity prints of their
famous paper creations for purchase.
They
are truly a work of art! I hope you have enjoyed them as much as I have.
Live
& Love,
J.
